Invergarry Post Office and Kate the subpostmaster

Just a quick update.

I’m in fortwilliam right now just catching up on my emails.

Been to Beauly postoffice yesterday, a wee bit out of Inverness where they run an outreach service to Kirkhill too.  It is very different to what I am used to, the way people interact with the post office workers, it is very friendly and first name.  A real community!

Anyway I visited, possibly the smallest PO today, in Invergarry, it was tiny!  It also runs an outreach service ‘home service’  but it isn’t utilised that much.  I’ll be posting all my insights from the interviews and visits in due course but I’ll leave this post with a couple of pictures.

Just heading out to Ailsig in an hour on the bus, last stop before returning home to glasgow.

Note:Research is can be fun as can travelling the rural areas of scotland but not when you have the flu and there is a rail strike on…I would like to be in my bed soon!  If the guys I met in the hostelread this, thanks for the heads up on Invergarry!  It was a wonderful post office!
